Hi
I have bought a stack of reclaimed parquet blocks and have set about cleaning them ready to lay on a concrete base. I knew when I bought them that the task of cleaning them ready to lay would be a tough one but I just wonder if I am trying to get them too clean and therefore taking much longer than I need to? I have been advised previously that I do not need to remove the bitumen as the new adhesive will fuse with that, I am going to use Ball B92 Styccobond. I would also like some advice on where to begin, I know that the norm is to start in the middle and work out from there but I am not laying mine in a herringbone pattern, I'm laying them in a brick work pattern and I need them to butt up flush to the frame of a bi-folding door set and I am keen to have them look neat there.
Has anyone got any advice for me?
Many thanks in anticipation

Wondering who advised you this??? None of the modern adhesives will "fuse" bitumen covered blocks.

It's always best to remove as much as the bitumen you can, placing them in a freezer for instance will make it more brittle and easier to chisel off.
