The back of our house faces SW so it gets hammered by rain and baked in the sun alternately. The present sliding patio doors are surprisingly weatherproof but we want to enlarge the openings to about twice their current size with french windows and two fixed or top-opening panes.
Our builder has shown us some aluminium doors, which would certainly do the job but we were hoping to find something a little more "designer" and aesthetic. Our back door is a steel/wood composite, which is excellent; it's grooved to look like a planked door and we have painted it a distinguished dark grey green in satin. I wonder if there is anything similar in construction, glazed, which can be supplied or painted in a colour other than white?
