daughter in law has terraced house ..rainwater coming in to rear of property when its lashing down. Think problem is centered on shared chimney stack on rear outer elevation of property (not the chimney at ridge).
Has already had valley gutter & flashing replaced..and back of stack (facing the ridge) rendered and stack repointed on her side Also both neighbour's and her pots on this stack have been capped all of which cost over £1k.
Still the problem persists...maybe even worse! ( nb neighbour has no similar problem ). Needs a second opinion from a good specialist roofer as builders who did the above work say they don't know why the problem still exists?? and say the stack probably needs to come down and the space/roof slated over.
I have advised her to get a second opinion on source of the problem before entering into the somewhat complex process of getting the shared stack down. I live along way away and in any case don't have the skills to advise anymore than that but I'd like to help as its worrying her a lot.
Thanks a lot for reading this..any help or contacts gratefully received
