Hi.
We're going to be installing bi-fold doors and a large roof window in our extension, so it's going to let in a lot of light. The flooring that we put down is going to run throughout the downstairs of our house and potentially lie on top of under floor heating.
I'm looking for some experience as to the best type of flooring we could use that would work well with UFH and not fade in direct sunlight. We've ruled out stone/slate tiles as although they would be best for UFH, it would have to partly be laid on a floating wooden floor which would bring it's own issues.
I've been looking a Quick Step laminate and Karndean, but no marketing material is going to tell you that after 2 years it'll be faded to a shadow of it's former self.
3M make some window film that reduces UV which could help - it's be interesting to hear if anyone has seen this in action?
Anyway, It'd be great if anyone could share some experience as to what's worth looking at (and what to avoid).
Thanks for your time and any responses,
Dave.
