I am in the market for a core drill, any informed recommendations.
Generally core out for domestic ex fans and and plumbing wastes.

I just read the reviews on Screwfix and the Sparky did not come out well. Surprised as mine has been fine. I once drilled a 4" hole and plumber did one similar in the same wall - he used a Makita and he did manage to go through the wall a fair bit quicker than I did. Depends how often you think you will be using it, I suppose, to determine how much you want to spend.

Blimey Norcon, you must have been feeling flush when you got that (nice) piece of kit!

Don't own one I'm afraid. :(

Was gonna recommend a Hilti but having used one on a site recently thought it a bit underpowered on a small core. It also went mad hot.
Two of us up a ladder swinging on it and getting no where.
Rems are German. Nuff said.

Personally I wouldn't buy one without a stand.

I have been using a Marcrist ddm2 for the last 5-6 years or so, shows no sign or giving up, it must have done thousands of 4 and 5 inch cores.

When the clutch does go, i will not hesitate to get the DDM3

Just brought a Makita. One setting seems pretty good. It replaces another Makita that had too many different settings, but still a good drill. Had a milkwalki that nearly broke my rist, I hope the bugger who stole it had a nice 4 inch hole to drill on a ladder.

That marcrist looks the business.
You can't beat a machine with metal armour!

I have tried both Sparky and dewalt core drills, the dewalt was pants and the Sparky although better than the dewalt did struggle.

I am now going to google some of the above suggestions
