Hi all.

I'm thinking of building a wood fired oven in the garden - I've got lots of old victorian bricks (left over from renovation) that I will use to face it, but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a type of brick to use inside the actual oven (ie oven floor, sides and arch).

Have any of you built a barbecue or oven and found a certain type of brick to be good? Any suppliers that you can recommend?

I need to price this project up, and have no idea how much firebricks cost - or if I'm honest, what I should be using

Cheers

since they're fired in a kiln, I'd say most bricks should be ok for an oven...

but then again I'm an electrician and the builders may know better..

old night storage heater is a good place to get fire bricks

Hello everyone, I want to build a barbecue in my backyard and I've been looking for inspiration for a long time. What I've liked the most so far, and the design would also fit well in my yard, is this https://www.daibau.rs/terra_pannonica/reference_i_misljenja/velika_letnja_kuhinja/12013 Now, my husband and I were planning to do this ourselves since he has some experience. I’m wondering if anyone has tried doing such a serious project on their own, and what your opinion is? Would it be easier and cheaper to hire professionals, or should we just go ahead and do it ourselves? Any kind of advice is appreciated, from recommendations on materials and methods of construction to even pricing.
