Hi,

I am a plumber by trade and have been using Screwfix's No Nonsense sanitary sealant.

Its let me down a few times now, not creating a great seal and coming away from surfaces when there is 1-2mm movement. The time spent taking it off and re-doing is one of my pet hates. I am happy now I have tried the worst to try something a bit better. Price is an issue, but I would rather pay over the odds and do it once.

Just to be clear, I am using it to seal around baths, shower trays, tiles etc..

Can any of you recommend any other brands please and good suppliers at good rates. Its the old adage, you get what you pay for.

Sam

In that case I must thank you, because part of my income comes from correcting your work.

That's odd, because price isn't an issue with any single solitary thing that I supply as part of doing a job.

Dow Corning 785.

...and good suppliers at good rates.
If you paid over the odds for a 310ml tube of 785, would your customers throw up their hands and refuse to engage you again? If so, you need different customers.

Softus - Were you born a tw@t or has it taken you some practice over the years.

I have come on here asking for advice and admitting my own shortcomings only to be greeted by your sarcastic and tw@tworthy comments.

Thanks to all the others who have had the good decency and grace to answer my question in a reasonable manner.

Softus - Go do one.

Note to self : Some of the posters here with very high post counts seem to take geat delight in belittling other people and playing the God card - ignore in future
