Hi
Help would be appreciated with the following please:
Our semi. house was cement rendered in late 70s. Over the years it has been painted with (initially) brilliant white Weathershield and (currently) Textured Sandtex.
Problem is a number of recurrent hairline cracks in the rendering, which "wick" damp through the solid (southfacing) wall to the interior.
Every couple of years I have been going over the cracks with a couple of coats of paint, but the same cracks always re-appear.
The rendering itself appears firm with no loose areas.
Can anyone please suggest a remedy that will not involve having the house re-rendered?
Many thanks.
Ray
