How many people have local facilities where it is possible to recycle all these materials...

Plastic bottles, metal, aluminium, glass, paper, cardboard, solid & composite woods, garden waste, oils, textiles & rubble?

Direct from my councils website:

Newspapers and magazines, glass bottles and jars, sheet glass, metal cans, plastics, vehicle batteries, household batteries, waste mineral (engine) oil, fluorescent light bulbs/tubes, household paint, textiles, shoes, green (garden) waste, soil, scrap metal, wood/timber, inert waste, general household waste, cardboard, fridges/freezers, waste electrical and electronic equipment, garden and household chemicals e.g. pesticides, fertilizers, pet care products, photographic equipment and bonded asbestos sheeting. (At the present time tyres are not accepted at these sites. Please contact your local tyre retailers to check if they take tyres for re-use/recycling)

We also have collections for newspapers/magazines, glass, plastic bottles and garden waste. They are very picky with what they accept regarding garden waste and plastics.

Yes, we can 'recycle' all those at our local tip.Or for £26 per year we can have a brown wheelie bin for garden waste.

Newspapers, tins and glass picked up from doorstep.

pretty good tip near me, anyone else have guys at there tip with "here to help" written on there coats!

yes we have a really good tip in the lancashire area, they recycle most things, and the lads there are very helpful, whether thats just cause I'm a girl dont know and I ususally go at dinner time in my suit which helps I think..............

we al;so have the brown waste bins and you dont have to pay for them, I rang up for one and received 2 so thats a big help......... ;)

Everything at the 'tip' or 'destructor' unit some limits - rubble. Type of vehicle.
Get there for 8-00 am on a Sunday - gates are opened, but no one appears on duty for at least 30 mins -

Doorstep :-
Weekly Green box. metal, batteries, paper, plastics, glass etc.

Fortnightly Garden waste via 50 Litre paper sacks at 75p each (stocked locally ) or large wheelie bin £46 per annum .... Cardboard and xmas trees at same collection for free.

Weekly 'dustbins' black sack at the gate - up until last year they collected binned bag(s) if visible from the gate.
We average about 3 Kg total to the dustbin 'kitchen' waste per week...

From our council figures I calculate our 3 Kg is at the level they expect from a similar family unit several years hence .. I bet we get nowt for being ahead of the game when the '£take' begins.

Garden composting plus 'incinerator' primed ready for action.
:D

yes you southerners have you own language.................

Next time I will put "whilst have a butty" that will confuse them.....................

Our local one isn't open at dinnertime, it shuts at 5.

our's are open from 7am to 7pm seven days a week, I presume you are talking about recycling or tip as us northerners call it, and not the butty shop............
