Red X or STP fuel additive

Not at all....by all means use a fuel preserver if your are storing petrol for ages, but better still use Aspen fuel for that.
John :)

I'd prefer to drain the petrol out at the beginning of winter

At the least, if you have a manual fuel tap, run the engine until it has used all the petrol in the carb so there is nothing left to dry out and leave residue.

I'm not sure if pidgeon wants to use the additives just to give maximum protection to his engine......either way, it's wasting money in my opinion - the engine will be just fine without them.

Thanks John

Seeing the adverts for car engines that these products help the engine, if it's no benefit to Lawn Mower engines will not buy.

I use B/S fuel fit if I have petrol left over end of year.
