Reduce flow or pressure?

I've been stupid and went for aesthetics over practicality and bought a waterfall-kind tap for my small basin in the downstairs cloakroom. As you can imagine, when you turn it up to max it goes right to the edge of the basin and splashes you in an embarrassing area. The tap's instructions manual mentions that if this happens you should install a flow reductor. Now I am a bit confused if I need a pressure reducing valve, ball-o-fix, or a flow regulator valve. Can anyone please advise?

dont you have an isolator (ball o fix ) already. reduce it with this
also where did you buy the tap?

Indeed, the idea struck me this afternoon. I have done that and it works. Silly me
I bought it in B&Q

There is a horrible noise on the cold water indeed. I will try the flow regulator, thank you.
