I having trouble sourcing the right part to reduce my 15mm compression to a slightly smaller tap fitting. Screw fix provided me with the show adapter but it weeps. Even with a good 10 turns of ptfe tape. Am I using the wrong part??

Any advice appreciated.

some fittings have tapered threads. some have parallel threads. if you must use that brass union that joins the braided hose you should use a copper to iron adapter to get back onto copper before the isolation valve

Remove the brass barrel fitting.
Connect the isolator to ashort piece of 15 pime via a nut and olive.
Similarly connect the flexible tap connector to the pipe using a nut and olive.
No PTFE tape required.
