I'm laying a new bathroom floor - 25mm wbp on wooden joists - then I will be tiling over. I have all the usual problems - floor height will be raised, joists are not level and not all joists have horizontal top surfaces. I wondered if I can use a circular saw to take up to 5mm off the top of the joists, a tedious task but it would solve the above problems if done right. Would this compromise the strength of the floor to a significant degree or does it sound feasible?
Thanks for any help.
