Reducing screed height - best technique?

Ive recently been disappointed to find that the screeded floor height in my kitchen seems to be slightly higher (~8mm) than elsewhere in my downstairs, which is a bit of a bumber in terms of putting engineered wood flooring down throughtout...

I dont particularly want to raise the heights of the other floors by that amount to match as it will cost a small fortune in self levelling screed, and the kitchen is actually quite small vs the rest.

What's the best technique for chopping away say 10mm of screed before self levelling again???

TIA

Aha - no not yet but this is partly why I want to do it. Looking at options the most economic way of doing UFH throughtout the downstairs is to get a company to mill out the grooves for the pipes.

it's either that or milling out the entire floor. since you're going to UFH anyway, getting the floor milled makes sense.
