About to install central heating system. Could anyone give me some pointers on which brand of boilers will break down less than others.

Most grateful for any advice.

I tend to stick with Worcester cdi or greenstar plus combis. I only had one warranty claim last year and that looked like a clear case of transport damage. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Bear in mind that only competent people are allowed to install boilers and that installations have to be certified by building regs.

Is it better to install a combination boiler instead of a condenser combin before the 1st April deadline. I mean are these new condense combin any good? or wise sticking to ordinary combin boiler for now. My aim is to install one which will give me as less headaches as possible in the long run. Thanks.

Worcester 28Cdi if you can fit before April fools day, also means big brother corgi and your local building dept wont know all your business either.

If you want reliability, forget the gas and get oil. They're built like tractors and just as reliable. They're also more efficient than gas boilers..
