"Religious" (???) intolerance

I challenge anyone to watch this episode and not find it funny!

I watched it online with my 15 year old son on Sunday night and we were in fits. Yeah, it's peurile and juvenile comedy but isn't that what South Park is all about????

Oh yeah and it's not just Tom Cruise in the closet, John Travolta joins him and you've got R Kelly singing about it!

It really is funny.....

It is all a bit silly, though I do belive there have to be lines drawn on free speech (the whole radical muslim cleric thing springs to mind).

And I must disagree with brigness, I watched an episode a few years back when it was much more hyped up than what it is now, the words unfunny waste of time come to mind personally, lol

I never really watched Southpark but I will try and watch this episode now that I have read about Scientology here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology

These people are truly barking mad. If you read the article then make sure you don't miss the bit about 'Operating Thetan levels and the Xenu incident'.

Here is a quote:

In the confidential OT levels, Hubbard describes a variety of traumas commonly experienced in past lives. He also explains how to reverse the effects of such traumas. Among these advanced teachings, one episode revealed to those who reach OT level III has been widely remarked upon in the press: the story of Xenu, the galactic tyrant who first kidnapped certain individuals who were deemed "excess population" and loaded these individuals into space planes for transport to the site of extermination, the planet of Teegeeack (Earth). These space planes were said to have been copies of Douglas DC-8s, except with rocket engines. He then stacked hundreds of billions of these frozen victims around Earth's volcanoes 75 million years ago before blowing them up with hydrogen bombs and brainwashing them with a "three-D, super colossal motion picture" for 36 days, telling them lies of what they are and what the universe should be like and telling them that they are 3 different things: 'Jesus, God, and The Devil.'

Whether these people are nutters or not, I think it's troubling that they have enough clout to pull this episode off the air. If something is valuable or genuine enough it should be able to stand up to p**s-taking and that includes the prophet b****y muhammed and any religion. It reminds me of that Jerry Springer musical that some small group of 'Christian' loonies managed to prevent from being performed at some venues.

Adam, how can you disagree with me if you haven't seen it? It's just really comical. I tried to find a site with it still up earlier but it would appear that they have all been pulled.....

The best bit is when TC, JT and R Kelly are all in the closet together and they are singing this song. My 15 yr old has been singing it round the house ever since - the only thing is, he's now interested in Scientology

That's all you need to know!

A bit of silly every day keeps you sane and young, to name but two.

I have always drawn the conclusion that the Scientology organisation is so litigous, and so aggressive in "protecting" its name because it really is a charlatan scheme with a great deal to hide that they need to keep hidden if the celebrity gravy train is to keep on running.
