The day is for remembering and honouring those that lost their lives defending this and allied countries, and routing a vicious foe, well that's one view. The dead of all confrontations; our own, our allies, our forebears, who gave us what still must be regarded as a fantastic freedom and security.
It's all very debateable.
Nevertheless, I thought it was completely tactless of BBC2 to screen,(what I consider a reasonable and entertaining film) The Blue Max.
Or is it just me.......?

Well i think the moral of showing the film is that war doesn't just affect us but all involved and they may have been the enemy but they lost many lives too, they had their heroes aswell, One of the many problems with wars are that they build up a long lasting hatred for fellow mankind which can lead to further wars and so it goes on......
I know people will say what if you lost loved ones etc but lets not forget that you fight for your country, it's not personal! if i lost loved ones i'd blame the governments involved for getting us into the situation in the first place not the individuals, some who have been forced to fight against their wills. War is a NASTY business make no mistake about it!
