Hi all

Just after a bit of advice. I have removed some old skirting which was about 6 inches in hight, new one going in are around 2.5 inches. The walls are fairly old and a bits of plaster has come away from the wall in places. Rather than paying out to have the walls skimmed is there any other suggestions to make it good? I was thinking maybe some Easi Fill 45?

I've posted a few pics as some are worse than others and some involve plugs sockets and radiator in the way (should this be removed).

Also you will see another pic where the ceiling has completely cracked in a cupboard. Is there an easy way to fix this?

Easifill and plenty of sandpaper will do the job.
you should be able to work around the radiator but should remove the socket plates.

It's always better to patch the walls first, then put on the new skirting.

Regarding the cracked plaster in the cupboard, break away the loose area of plaster, then give the lath a wet down/pva with a water brush, then bring it down flush with some bonding plaster,,,,,,, ooooorrrrr, after removing/cleaning away the loose stuff, you can screw a small piece of plasterboard to the laths, scrim the joints around the edges, then again, using bonding plaster, flush it off, then put on multi finish.
