Can anyone tell me a handy way of removing bearing from a motor on my reillo G3 burner, i have opened up the motor but i cant get the bearing of the motor shaft and i am afraid of damaging the motor, any tips on removing Thanks
Taught of just replacing motor but it seems a lot cheaper just replacing bearings one of them is seized up, i dont have a bearing puller is this the only way of removing them, might just have to invest in one. In practice what do most enginners out there do? replace bearings in this situation or just chuck motor in bin and replace it altogether.
Grip the bearing in the jaws of a vice, and lightly tap the motor shaft with a hammer and block of wood.
Better still, if the vice has wide jaws, let the bearing sit on the top of open jaws, and hold the motor as you tap the shaft. its a wee bit kinder this way!
