Hi all,

Not too sure where this should be posted but anyway...

I'm in the process of moving house and i need to remove the bottom part of the kitchen units so i can get in to run some cabling behind (network) but i can't figure out how it comes off.

On my old kitchen they were just clipped onto the legs of the unit, i want to get it off without damaging it.

Any suggestions? I didn't really want to have to go down the whole dismantling route...

dave - your new ones are probably fixed in the same way but aren't 'loose' or maybe as accessable as the old ones. Fashion a hook (like a letter L) from a wire coat hanger, slip this behing the plinth (kick plate) at the top - there should be enough space to slip it in, if not carefully lever a tiny gap with a screwdriver. Once in turn the hook through 90° then pull ... the plinth should pull away.

Sometimes these plinths are screwed, from the front, in position with black headed screws or pinned. Lossen screws then as above. Pins ... as above.

Thats a good idea, i'll try that, thanks.

There's no screws that i can see, i'm just wanting to make the cabling as neat as possible, i've already done the upstairs part - under the floorboards everywhere.
