Hi,

I'm wanting to fit plaster in the wall lights, before dot and dabbing. These require some space behind the 12.5mm plasterboard, essentially and for ease the removal of a whole brick.

I'm looking at x4 plaster in lights, however one of them would be right over the middle of a steel beam - this steel is 3 meters in length (152x152) supporting the external brick wall/outer leaf for the upstairs. Is it safe to remove the second brick up from the steel? Or just that's a stupid idea and just don't bother?

The idea is to have uplighters onto a vaulted ceiling that sit flush into the wall:

Many thanks

Please show a picture of the steel, the wall around it and an indication of which brick you plan to remove
