I laid a patio in the summer and filled the gaps in using cement, unfortunatley I got some cement on the actual slabs, any ideas what can be used to remove the cement from the slabs? I have tried a hammer and chisel but to no avail.

Thanks in advance.

You could rub it with a brick. The flat side of the brick will slide over the smooth slab but will abrade the rough cement on top. It will tend to scratch the slab a bit but this will probably not show when they get dirty.

The brick is softer than the concrete so will not scratch it much.

Beware of chemicals sold for removing cement stains from brickwork. Although these acid cleaners do attack cement, in your case they will attack the concrete slabs equally well.
