Removing cement

Any idea what the best way for removing cement of the shovel

washing it before it sets!!!

easiest thing is to use a stone grinding disc ( not cutting disc) in an angle grinder.

brick acid also works but takes time.

To clean the concrete on a shovel, heat the shovel ober your BBQ
Metal expands a lot faster than concrete, so it is easier to break off the concrete.

did you weigh it?

now go and sharpen it, a good spade should be sharp, so as to cut (it also makes cutting through cables that are not deep enough easier)
