Removing Glass Sealant

I would be obliged if anyone could tell how to remove a double glazed sealed unit, from a timber window frame. I need to replace the unit due to condensation however it is held in the frame with either an acrylic sealant/putty (brown). The house was built circa 1999 by bovis.
