Hello. I want to remove an awkward wall in my kitchen to make the flow of my downstairs better and facilitate an island. Pictures below - top one is current layout, second one is goal.

Will this be an issue with fire
Regs/anything else I need to consider? It’s not a supporting wall. We have just ground and first floor.

Any other feedback welcome!!!

You can only have open plan if all the bedrooms/habitable rooms on the first floor have compliant escape windows that meet the regs. You're effectively compromising the escape route for anyone upstairs so they need an alternative escape route ie a window.

How do I tell if that’s the case?
