Hello,
I've a softwood patio door and applied x2 coats wood preservative, x1 coat Sadolin Ultra base coat clear & x2 coats of Sadolin Ultra wood stain.
The Sadolin Ultra is a pigmented wood "stain" but it cures more like a gloss finish.
The first coat was fine, still showing the original wood but the second coat was applied way too thick and the door now looks orange
The door is now fully dry/cured. Is it possible to remove this top layer with sandpaper and get to the first coat colour? If so, what grade of paper and/or would white spirit help to thin it out? If not, is it a case of sanding down completely and reapplying the base coat and top coat?
Thanks in advance for your guidance.
