Painted the outside of the house, got some paint on the external pvc pipes. Best way to remove it? white spirit isn't doing the job.

several, good evening.

Suggest you try on an inconspicuous area something like very fine wire wool??

Or very fine wet and dry Sandpaper with lots of water water added.

Using highly abrasive sandpaper or similar will score and scratch the plastic resulting in scoring of the Plastic.

Ken.

Are the pvc pipes black ? It might be easier dabbing over the marks with black gloss.

White spirit or turps wont shift a water based paint. As Nige F has stated maybe touch in with black gloss. I usually paint older faded plastic rainwater pipes/gutters etc with one coat of thinned oil based gloss and it dries like a mirror. It wont come off either.

Methylated spirits did the job for us. Just wash the pipe down thoroughly once you have got the paint off, or it can cause discoloring. Where this happened, I then had to cream cleaner the plastic to get it back to white

meths works on emulsion paint.

it might work on masonry paint

But what sort is it?
