I've just been told I need to remove a radiator so the plasterer can plaster behind. It's a Combi Boiler system and the radiator has a thermostatic valve. I've read the postings stating that this could open up again if the room gets too cold.

However, the boiler (Glowworm) is swithed to summer mode at the moment, which means none of the radiators are on. Is this still a problem, or will I be ok not capping the trv?

Its good practice to always cap the trv.
Simply unscrew the head and fit cap supplied then drain down :p

Thanks for reply.
I'll get a cap on the way home. I presume they'll be available at most DIY stores (Homebase, Wickes, etc).
Are they called Radiator Valve Caps, or something different. What size am I looking for? Or are they a standard size?

They normally come with the trv in the box but if you don't have any try a plumbers merchant. :)

Thanks for the advice. Remove two radiators last night without any problems.
