Any advice please. I am removing silicone from the corners between my shower base and tiled walls. There are two walls at right angles to each other. The vertical silicone joint between the 2 walls is good and really doesn't need to be removed. After removing the horizontal silicone joints around the shower base I will be applying a new silicone joint to replace it. This new silicone will pass over the very bottom point of the vertical silicone joint in the corner. My question is: does the vertical joint need to be removed, or will the new silicone passing over it be OK?
Thanks for the help

I would remove all traces, soap scum and scale on the old seal will prevent good adhesion.

remove the silicon thaat you are changing, then give the surfaces a good clean with, and dont laugh, nail varnish remover, then with a lint free cloth wipe over again then you are ready for the new silicon
