Hi,

I have recently moved into a new flat and would like to change the kitchen tap but have never seen before a mounting bracket as the one in the attached photo.

Anyone could advise me on how to uninstall it?

Also, the hex screw to remove the lever has been completely rounded so any ideas on how to remove this would be very wellcome too.

Thanks.
Ivan

Odd set up below ,not seen one like it before . It seems to be mounted from above ,which would involve the tap body having one or two grub screws close to its base ,that have to be removed. Are there any ??

Hm, I see this plastic cap but am struggling to remove it. There might be a grub screw as you said behind it.

Is there another at the rear of the body ?
If you are going to remove the tap and fit a new one ,just knock it out with a small screwdriver

Nothing at the rear. But I just managed to remove the plastic cap, and unscrew the grub screw and it seems the tap is now moving up and down easily.
It seems that if I undo the nuts holding the copper pipes I should be able to remove the tap and the get access to the bracket from above.

Thanks for the tip to look for the grub screws.

I can't work out what those two very thin rods are for ,either side of the copper pipes ,would be interesting to see it all disassembled if you get time .

Hi,
Managed to finish the work on Sunday.
The thin springs don't seem to do much other than probably pull the metal bracket up during installation:

Then, once I had undone the nuts holding the copper pipes, I was able to lift the tap enough to get access to the two bolts that were holding it tight.
Unfortunately, one of the pipes was soldered with a bent which would prevent it to go through the hole in the sink.
Eventually I had to cut it:

Thanks for sharing those pics Ivan.
I suspect your new taps method of securing the tap to the sink was more simplistic !! Why people try to re invent simple things ,and make them far more fiddly and complicated ,for no real benefit is beyond me !!
