Removing some tiles without damaging the others around it

Hi all,

Just had bathroom and shower plumbed in while i was away, im redoing the tilework myself so could someone please advice me to how i remove the 5 broken tiles in the area shown so i can add the new size tiles.

depends on how well they are fixed,you may be able to lift them with a wallpaper scraper and hammer.
 
I would sugest:

Carefully scrape away the existing grouting that connects to a tile you want to keep, you can do this with a grout scraper.

That done then you can try lifting the broken tiles, you should now have a 2mm ish gap to others so it should not affect them.
If needs be you can drill/smash them carefully to aid removal.

As said, a scraper or bolster chisel used as a lever can aid removal.

It may be an idea to mask off the good tiles with heavy duty tape & thick cardboard (or even cereal boxes) to protect them while doing this.

Those 2 holes in the tiles can perhaps be filled by adding fancy hooks for shower gel & a loofah etc :D
 
The main worry would be destroying the plasterboard as you try to remove them!!!!

a massive lump hammer and start again!

the plasterboard is gonna come with it and then your f******d
