Removing vinyl floor tile adhesive, or not .

Hi, my query is that i have removed the vinyl floor tiles in my kitchen, but the black adhesive which stuck them down is still on the concrete floor, will it be ok to use a flexible floor tile adhesive straight on top of this black adhesive ? i am wanting to lay fastwarm boards with heating mats and then ceramic tiles.
