removing wax from floor tiles

hi there
have hired a floor buffer/remover, but finding it difficult to use, i am using what looks like a brillo pad on the machine,but when i start it up it is very difficult to control, it swings from side to side, i cant seems to keep it in one place
any ideas on what i may be doing wrong would be helpful

hold it still helps.

I had a go with one in a school (just for the fun of it) you do have to learn how to "fight it" but once you get the hang of it its not too bad
 
You've gotta let it do it's own thing - if you try and fight it you'll lose. Just start it up and relax with it - you should be able to guide it with one hand when it's going. Once you get the knack you'll be surprised how easy it is.
