renault scenic ll Diagnostic

Hi just wondered if someone can help. I have a renault scenic 1.5 dci 53/04 reg

im looking to get a obd cable and software, but a little unsure of what i need exactly. And also what software is best to get in order to reset lights and read codes etc

any help and advice on this would be great. i would prefer one that connects to laptop rather that just a code reader

There are several different manufacturers of diagnostic gear, but I get my stuff from Gendan.
Excellent back up, free (limited) fault codes look up and technical help line.

I too have a Gendan interface and find it a good piece of kit, however as diesels up to 2005 didn't have to be compliant with the OBDII interface it is advisable to double check with Gendan before purchasing that it will work.

I second that - I think its 2001 onwards for petrols, and 2004 onwards for diesels but definitely worth checking.
