Hi there.
We have a small extension on our house which is rendered and painted. For a while the paint has been flaking around hairline crack which have appeared in the render, although some appear just to be the paint. I have today been out and scraped the loose paint off and bought a stabilising solution. Under the paint, the render is quite chalky.
The area around my back door appears to have had a window in at some point and where the window has been the sand/cement render is obvious, and the paint is stuck to this bit like glue... however the transition between where the window was and the older stuff isn't very good.
My question is :
Am I able to feather off the newer stuff into the older stuff to smooth the transition out with a sharp sand/cement mix with a bit of plasticiser in? I appreciate it won't look bob on, but it will look better than it does at the minute. Once that is done, can it all be stabilised and painted?
Many thanks
Duncan
