Hi
We have an ex local authority, heavily painted ,roughcast house.
Recently added a block built side extension.
Now, it needs rendering, and I would like the whole lot smooth, doing the extension is easy, scratch coat, top coat etc, using the advice on this forum (i can plaster well) , but....
The old painted part of the house?, can I render over the painted bits, or should it come off?... it is all sound, in fact, its hard as diamond !, just one bit with a crack, which I can dig out and reinforce with mesh beforehand....
What do you think? - someone suggested sbr on the paint, someone else sb12?......
