We're having a new kitchen installed, partly because stud and board lining is trapping damp air and causing smelly condensation.

We need to get the walls flat enough to fix cupboards and tile, losing as little depth as possible, add a little thermal insulation.
We don't want to use studs - it just seems to lead to damp and mould and complexity, we just want to put on a simple insulating render/plaster
We were going to use: https://cornishlime.co.uk/products/lime-mortars/cornerstone-insulating-render/
But they tell us that because tile adhesive is stronger than the NHL, it's not suitable.
So what's the gypsum/cement based insulating alternative?
Cheers, Stephen
