Hi

Looking for some help with house we are moving into, house was built in 1999.

Repair / Flatten out plaster board bulge on failed joint on internal stairwell wall as shown in pictures. The other side of stairwell has a longer (approx 180cm) but much less protruding failed joint, but with no split, more of a hump. Will I need both walls repaired and completely re-skimming to get good even finish?

Sorry no photo of other wall, both pictures are of main area of concern. Other wall is longer join (approx 180cm) but not fractured, more of a bump.

Any idea on cost please as wanting to discuss with estate agent and house seller?

Thank you for any help.

I don't suppose you know the name of the building company who built that house, but overall, that is an "utter mess", and whoever boarded that wall, and the person that taped it, should be ashamed of themselves. That "mess" is an insult,,,shocking, no other word for it. If you went out to buy a car, even a second hand one, and the bodywork was as out of shape as that wall is, you wouldn't look at it,,,, a house is no different. To get that right/un-noticeable, would cost a good few quid. Makes you wonder who passed off that house after it was built.
