We have an Anderson screen door with the Door Closer hardware at the bottom of the door (not enough clearance between screen door and door jam at the top).

At some point at the site of the current installation, the screws were stripped that holds the door closer to the door jam at the bottom and thus the door closer no longer functions.

Question is how to repair? Do I replace the door closer completely?

It's wood..
Make a wooden plug
Wood glue and tap in hole
Screw in again.
is that the problem or the metal closer broken?
