Repairing Artex ceiling

What is the best way to repair them and how do I get this swirly effect?[/img]

It can take years to master artexing to be honest.

Me personally would Plaster over, but make sure all artex is sound.

Thank you. The ceiling is huge, and all the rooms have the same pattern, so I don't want to get them all plastered, I need it repaired instead. I thought I would get some Artex and a sponge and attempt to do the pattern --- is it a sponge that makes this pattern?

try a sponge wrapped with plastic bag..............and then unwrapped good luck
