Repairing outdoors water pipe with tap

How can I quickly/easily repair a small split in a copper pipe. The pipe is running water from the house to a tap on the outside wall. I have no knowledge of plumbing but willing to have a go at repairing if I can

If a small split you can cut it out and use a compression coupler.

If larger you will need a small piece of pipe and 2 comp couplers.

Make sure all pipe is inserted fully into fittings and tighten nuts up.
Jointing paste may come in handy if this is your first attempt at plumbing
