Hi all,
I'm getting pretty used to skimming walls that haven't got much in the way of holes in them and plasterboard but I just need a bit of advice...
I've just channeled out for some cabling and discovered that an area of plaster around the cables was so loose it just came off leaving me with an area about 2' x 3' down to the brick. I was planning on skimming the wall anyway but wanted to know what the best thing to do with the hole is.
I was thinking - one coat of PVA, leave overnight to dry, another coat and plaster over the hole while the PVA is still tacky and scratch the surface, leave for about 4 hours and then skim the wall with 2 coats as I usually would.
Does that sound about right? And - I use Multi finish for top coating, would this be the best option for the hole filling or would I be better with a different plaster?
Thanks for any advice
Dav
