Repairing small patch of ceiling artex

Hi all,

I have recently but my foot through the ceiling whilst I was up in the loft. I have now patched the hole and have started to fill it, but need to find a way of creating the artex pattern that is on the ceiling. The pattern should be easy to copy, as it is the Broken Swirl Laced type which looks like mountain peaks etc, not the swirl pattern type.

Is there a way of doing this without buying large amounts of artex, can I do this with filler, which I have tried without much success.

size of hole is about a size 10 shoe.

You may be able to buy ready mixed texturing stuff in small amounts in the DIY stores...worth a look.
