I've had a couple of leaks over the years from the connection to my bathroom wash basin tap. On each occasion, the washer has been broken. The first one was a fibre washer. I replaced this with a similar one, taking care not to over tighten. That one started leaking today and is shown in the attached photo.
I replaced this one with a disc type rubber washer which I already had, similar to the one in the photo, which is larger than the one I used.
The mating surface of the hose is flat and clean, but the mating surface on the tap has a bevel, making it quite sharp. Could this be causing the problem?
I was wondering what those that do this every day use.
