Repionting a garage

Hi
I need to repoint part of a garage wall before painting it with Dulux Exterior masonry paint. As the the amount of repointing is fairly small in relation to the size of the wall would it be OK to just use some exterior decorators caulk rather than mess around mixing mortar- something I've never done.

No, buy some sand and cement and do it properly. I don't like recommending "pre-pack" products, but if you only have a small area to point get yourself a ready mixed product. Something like this would be ideal.
