Hi Have house in multiple occupation hot water from two Brittony 11T multipoints. when these heaters eventually have HP gas and water section failure reconditioned replacements will cost £300 for each Brittony, best to scrap and replace with power flue available heaters? Will higher cost of replacements and installing electrical connection for fans be somewhat offset by lower gas use. My gas fitter could not advise.thanks

HP gas?

I had one of them in a renter for a while. I changed the diaphragm, there's not much to them. But they're still crap. You can get them replaced with a cheap combi. Some will work with the "radiator " connection shorted, but you'd have to check which .
I doubt the gas use would change a lot. They don't condense on hot water, afaik.

Mains gas,my experience of them has been excellent but do not last for ever and no longer made, they replaced 25 year old Brittony when the water gas section failed I was hoping a condensing multipoint is available.

Brittony water heaters are very reliable, main problems are diaphragm ,which you can still get,and pilot injector which can be cleaned, never buy a cheap combi , they are cheap for a reason

I now know Main still make a balanced flue mutipoint that does not need an electrical supply. Looked at condensing alternative mutipoint water heaters considerably more costly and even calculating a doubling of gas prices by the autumn will go for the Main the gas saved by a condensing multipoint not that much, meanwhile have the Brittony 11T,always run on relatively low heat enough for a shower without the addition of cold water, gas/water units refubished at £300 each. I am advised that condensing units do not last many years. As with so much simplest is best,my Baxi wall heaters are forty years old pass test every year. I wonder how long it will be until multipoints will have to be condensing?

Intergas boiler, I am told will condense during HW demand.

Rinnai as mentioned made a water heater to replace said water heater. Done a few. Iv been using rinnai for years on campsite toilet and shower blocks etc. Iv used the domestic one in restaurants and they are great bits of kit. Most reliable water heater Iv come across
