Morning all,
Our uPVC bathroom window's handle turns but it doesn't move the mushroom cams so I can't close/lock it. I'm thinking the problem is the spindle part that the handle's bar inserts into (this corroded on my car door as well and broke up). When turning the handle the cams attempt to move, but I hear a cracking noise and they stay put.
I haven't got ladders to get access to the underside of the window (it's hinged from the top). Can I just replace the handle with a cockspur handle? Or can you even buy the replacement spindle on its own?
I know, I know. I should just buy a whole new lock mechanism...
Many thanks,
Paul.
