Replace fireplace lintel?

Having removed the flaking plaster from my living room walls, Ive discovered that the lintel above the fireplace is cracked. Is it worth getting this replaced before the room is re-plastered, or will it be ok to leave it as its been fine all these years?

I've a builder visiting soon to do other work, so I could add this to his list, or I could have a go at doing it myself. Would the brickwork above need supporting, or should it hold itself in place?

The brickwork above it looks sound. I would leave it. FWIW Its holding up 6 bricks!

Thanks. I wonder how a concrete lintel could have cracked like that in the first place?

maybe heat, or maybe it was cracked when they put it in lol
either way nothings cracked above it and it looks solid
