Hello there. I currently have Bluetooth Honeywell thermostat that uses “Honeywell Home BDR91A1000” receiver. I am planning to upgrade the thermostat to a wifi enabled one. Can I use this existing receiver ?

We'd need to know exact which wi-fi thermostat as a lot of receivers have changed and aren't necessarily compatible.

Hi there. For now I am looking at “Honeywell T6R Wireless Smart Thermostat”. However not fussy as I am open to any compatible thermostat that use Wi-Fi.

So after looking, it appears that particular thermostat comes with the updated Honeywell home receiver, which uses different software. You could ask their technical department if it would work as I'm not 100%.

Did not know BDR was Bluetooth:unsure:
Definitely not Bluetooth, it uses the 868MHz band for short range communication between receiver and stat, rather than the 2.4GHz used by Bluetooth and WiFi.

Don't be put off by the thought of changing the receiver - it is usually a simple electrical job, that we guide many through on this forum.

Cannot go wrong with this unit.
Geofencing and remote access.
Has open therm connection if your boiler allows.

T6 is hard wired
T6R is two piece wireless unit
