I have a Baxi LPG fired back boiler - would like to do a straight replacement with an electric boiler. It must run 7 radiators and provide hot water.

There is a sensible reason for this - it is in a house let out for holidays and therefore storing fuel is not really convenient.

Any recommendations? Anyone used an Amptec boiler for example.

Yes . Excellent piece of kit , with practically no maintenance .Check which type of tariff is available from your energy supplier .

Amptecs are good but if you are paying the bills then expect an increase of about 2.5 times what you are paying now.

From memory of the last official government figures which are probably out of date now. For every £1 you would pay on nat. gas expect to pay
£1.20 for oil
£1.50 for the cheapest rate economy7 electric [which wouldnt apply with amptecs]
£2 for LPG
£5 Normal tariff electric

Thanks for replies - is it a straight forward job to replace the old back boiler with an Amptec?
